You're traveling through another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between the light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call "The Twilight Zone."
Rod Serling was an extremely, multi-talented man and a good writer and for five seasons in the early 1960s his television series, The Twilight Zone, was extraordinary. The above is one of the many introductions narrated by Serling during the span of the series. Do you remember the episode of the man on the airplane who kept seeing some troll of a figure sitting on the wing of the plane while flying at 30,000 feet? When he tried to show others the hideous creature, there was no one there. And the one with the lady in a room full of manikins, all of whom, at one time, had been human themselves. I especially like the one of the man who learned that his life was nothing but a film in which he was little more than a bit player.
Well, that was television. It wasn’t real. There was no middle ground. It was only the vivid imagination of a creative mind. And we watched it every week and were transported from reality, if only for half an hour.
Entertainment is one thing, but the reality of the spirit world is another. There is a world which we cannot see with the naked eye. A world of demonic conflict. It exists just above our heads, in what the Bible calls the Heavenly Realms.
God’s Word says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the Heavenly Realms.” {Ephesians 6:10-12}
We are at war! We are not fighting flesh and blood, but forces of a demonic nature who battle for our souls. This region, the true Spiritual middle ground, will be worthy of our time for the next few weeks. You are part of the struggle. You cannot opt out. Someone correctly noted, We are not human beings having a Spiritual experience, rather, we are Spiritual beings having a human experience. This is the dimension of reality. It is an area which we call the Battle Zone.
He would want me to remind you. Think about it. Amen.
