We are the Highland Church of Christ, a non-denominational Christian community in Paintsville, Kentucky. We are delighted to be able to tell you more about our family, and we trust that this website will be helpful in giving you an idea of what really matters to us. The bottom line is that you matter to us, because you matter to God. We are here for a reason, and everything we do is motivated by the sense of purpose:

We exist to love and save the world through Jesus Christ. Everything you see or read about on this website exists because we believe it's consistent with the mission of Jesus now passed on to us. You'll notice that our church family is involved in a broad diversity of ministries. While there is room at Highland for every member to serve God in his own unique way, the following values under gird
all we do here.

MISSION POSSIBLE

John 17:17-23
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. [18] As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. [19] For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. [20] "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, [21] that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. [22] I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: [23] I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Worship
    We place a high priority on worshipping God privately and together. We desire that our assemblies and our very lives offer praise to Him who has redeemed us.

Edification
    We believe it is essential that every Christian grow in his walk with the Lord. We offer a variety of teaching and serving experiences to help this vital maturing process.

Evangelism
    We are committed to sharing with out immediate community and with the world what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. We want all to understand how much they matter to God.

Social Justice
    We feel called to be salt and light in our world and to embody an ethic that is consistent with our new place in the kingdom of God. People matter to God! And so, people matter to us... people just like you!
